About Us

Founded in 2017 by Ms. Krista Kisch, Lone Star Renewables has broad industry experience across the US wind energy, solar, battery storage and data center markets.  Ms. Kisch brings 25-years of experience in greenfield development, project acquisition and management of utility-scale renewable, storage, and transmission line projects.

Ms. Kisch successfully developed Milford Wind, a 300 MW wind farm with an associated 90-mile 345 kV generation tie-line in Utah valued at $700 million.  In 2008, Milford Wind was granted the first Record of Decision by the US Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management under its Wind Energy Programmatic EIS.  She was also the lead developer of the Evergreen Express, an approximately $800 million bulk hydro cross-border high voltage transmission line running from Quebec Province, Canada to southern Maine.  She has developed numerous utility-scale wind and solar projects in the United States. and undertaken siting analyses, permitting, transmission studies, real estate acquisition, regulatory approvals and community outreach.  Often these projects are best in class.

Ms. Kisch has held prior development leadership roles at AEP Renewables, NextEra Energy Transmission, BrightSource Energy, First Wind, Shell WindEnergy and Enron Wind.  Ms. Kisch holds an MBA from Boston University and a BA in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
